The Women Lawyers Association of Queensland Inc (WLAQ) is seeking expressions of interest to fill the role of Assistant Treasurer until the 2026 Annual General Meeting, at which point the successful candidate will then be nominated to step into the role of Treasurer for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The Assistant Treasurer role is a new initiative of the WLAQ and is designed to provide support to, and serve as a succession pathway to, the Treasurer role.
The successful incumbent will support the Treasurer with their day-to-day duties which will include (but will not be limited to):
Frequent monitoring of the WLAQ Accounts inbox and responding to enquiries;
Bookkeeping duties in Xero;
Everyday banking duties including paying invoices and facilitating transfers from the WLAQ bank accounts;
Generating and sending invoices on behalf of the WLAQ;
Assisting with the preparation of the monthly Treasurer’s report and other records required for monthly committee meetings;
Assisting with the preparation of records for the Annual General Meeting;
Assisting with other compliance and reporting duties.
Applicants must be a financial member of the WLAQ to be considered and must be willing to commit at least four hours a week to the role.
